Pond Restoration – it’s amazing !

The Friends of Eaglesfield Park were formed in 2006 and after public consultation it was agreed to focus on the restoration of the old lily pond to create a haven for wildlife and a focal point for visitors.  I thought you might like to see how the pond has changed over the last 8 years.

What a transformation!

VLUU L200 / Samsung L200Eaglesfield Park is a wonderful community park – providing open space for children to play and enjoy picnics, a playground, the second highest point in London offering  fantastic views across Kent and Essex, dedicated wildlife meadow, pond dipping (with platform), a wildlife pond surrounded by wild flower meadow and quiet areas to simply relax.  It is part of the Green Chain Walk and has been awarded the Green Flag by the environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy which recognises and rewards the best parks and open spaces across the country. Let’s hope 2014 will be even better!
